NebraskaLand Bank Recognized for Financial Education Leadership
May 14, 2026

NebraskaLand Bank has been named to the Nebraska Bankers Association’s Leaders in Financial Education, or LiFE, Honors List, recognizing the Bank’s commitment to promoting financial education in North Platte and surrounding communities through school outreach and the NebraskaLand University Scholarship program.
The LiFE program honors Nebraska banks and bankers that lead community efforts to improve financial education. NebraskaLand Bank earned the recognition through employee volunteer work in area schools, where staff members speak with students about banking and financial literacy, and through its long-running scholarship program NebraskaLand University.
NebraskaLand University is a six-course financial literacy scholarship program that covers budgeting, saving, credit, loans, career and wealth development, identity theft protection and related topics. The curriculum combines established financial literacy materials with lesson plans created and taught by senior and executive officers at NebraskaLand Bank.
The program is open at no cost to high school seniors in North Platte and surrounding communities. Each student who completes all six courses and participates in the capstone essay contest receives a $250 academic scholarship from NebraskaLand Bank. The top three essays also receive scholarships of $1,000, $750 and $500.
Since the program began in 2014, NebraskaLand Bank has awarded $124,250 in scholarships to 425 local graduates. Applications for the 2026-27 course will be accepted online beginning in August 2026 at NebraskaLandUniversity.com.
