Why You Should Attend Shred Day
Identity theft and mail fraud remain major risks for individuals and businesses alike. Throwing sensitive paperwork directly into the trash leaves your personal data vulnerable. On Shred Day, you can bring sensitive documents to be securely shredded, giving you immediate peace of mind.
What You Should Bring
Please bring your shred in a disposable container, such as a cardboard box or trash bag. (Cardboard boxes will be recycled.) Please limit shredding to a maximum of six boxes per household.
Items that will be accepted:
- Old bank and credit card statements
- Utility bills and medical invoices
- Expired tax documents and pay stubs
- Pre-approved credit card offers
- Any mail containing your Social Security Number, account numbers, or passwords
Before arriving, double-check for items that cannot be shredded, including:
- Glass, cans, or syringes
- Cardboard tubes
- Ink cartridges or toners
- Hanging folders
- Nuts, bolts, or other metal objects like binder clips and excessive paper clips
Additionally, we cannot accept electronics or hard drives.
