HSP Program
The Homeownership Set-aside Program
What is HSP? The Homeownership Set-aside Program (HSP) is specifically designed to support first-time homebuyers. To qualify for this program, applicants must have a household income that does not exceed 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI). This program provides subsidies for down payment and/or closing cost assistance for eligible first-time homebuyersKey Details:
- Opens: March 2, 2026
- Assistance amount: $2,500–$15,000
- Requirements: Homebuyer education is required as part of this program.

What is HSP? The Homeownership Set-aside Program (HSP) is specifically designed to support first-time homebuyers. What is HOPE? The Homeownership Possibilities Expanded (HOPE) program is for moderate-income buyers earning up to 115% of the AMI. Unlike many programs, HOPE isn’t just for first-time buyers. It’s great for families who don’t qualify for traditional grants but still need help with down payments or closing costs. Key Details:
- Opens: March 16, 2026
- Assistance amount: Starts at $2,500
- Requirements: Current homeowners must sell their home (no rentals allowed)
