11/16/12 - November Progress.  The Bank is starting to take shape! In the picture below, the workers are busy pouring concrete for the first floor. 

 9/12/12 - Check out the lastest progress! Walls are being poured and the steel is being put up. 

7/3/2012 - You may have noticed some large equipment on our building site! This machine is called a GeoPier Rammed Earth Compaction Piling. It uses a vibratory pile driver to dig 20 feet into the ground. A skid loader dumps ¾ inch crushed limestone down the hole created by the pile driver. The vibration from this machine pushes the limestone into the surrounding earth and that creates a more stable, compacted foundation for the footings of the building. This process is repeated 150 times in preparation for the basement footing excavation. We are excited to see this progress! Peterson Contracting Inc. from Reinbeck, Iowa is the contractor completing this phase.

5/22/2012 - Western Engineering is working on bringing our site up to grade with fill dirt for construction to start taking place.

 4/16/2012 - The City (Municipal Light and Water) plans to install a new sanitary sewer line that will run across the site. This new line will run just north of the proposed new basement and south of the existing Modern Muffler site. Western Engineering will then add fill dirt to bring the site up to grade for construction. This was delayed due to compaction tests that needed to be completed on the site to determine what soil mix was required.

Once our final building plans are completed, we will dig the basement and install the footings. The footing installation is tentatively scheduled for the first week of August. We are excited to see the steel erection begin immediately after the footings are in. We will continue to update our website and facebook page as the construction progress continues.
