To help students learn how to effectively use credit, NebraskaLand National Bank teamed up with the American Bankers Association’s Get Smart About Credit program. NebraskaLand National Bank presented to area classrooms about the importance of creating good credit habits and making future financial decisions.
Volunteer bankers met with students to put a new spin on an important subject. NebraskaLand National Bank’s program focuses on important financial obstacles facing teens; paying for college, building good credit habits and protecting their identities.
The Get Smart about Credit program is in its 11th year as a national campaign of volunteer bankers who help young people develop responsible credit habits. The program’s national awareness day took place on October 17 with the Nebraska Banker’s Association hosting a Twitter Chat. Bankers participated in the nationwide chat, using the hashtag #GetSmartChat to help educate students and citizens about the credit awareness movement.
